Biscuits
Biscuits
1 Cup vanilla soy milk
1 tsp apple cider vinegar
2 cups flour
1/4 cup shortening
2 tbsp Earth Balance
1 tbsp baking powder
1 tsp salt
Mix soy and apple cider vinegar and let curdle for a minimum of 15 minutes. I use vanilla soy because I find it leaves less of a soy aftertaste. Preheat oven to 450 degrees. Grease cookie sheet (I use Earth Balance to add a more buttery flavor.) Mix flour, baking powder and salt. Cut in shortening and Earth Balance till mixture is crumbly. Make a well in the center of the flour and pour in soy mixture. Stir together until dough is formed. Use about a 1/4 of dough and put into pan. I don't try to form them but you may. Bake 10 minutes or until golden.
